Hi my name is Julie, DH name is Brad, son Easton(6), Daughter Alyssa (8 1/2) months. She was diagnosed with CP but we don't know to what degree because they don't want to do an MRI until she is a year old. She still doesn't turn over or sit up and she has other motor problems as well. She is also clinically blind. She sees very little and it has to be still and held in front of her for her to notice it. We don't know to what degree of blindness she has yet either. It is so frustrating not having any answers. We just have to take it day to day and love her just the way she is. She has hydrocephalus and a shunt was placed into her brain when she was 4 weeks old. They believe that is what caused the CP and the blindness because of the great amount of pressure put on that region of her brain.

I hope we can get to know each other and support each other.

Hi Julia! I replied to the other post before seeing this one! Welcome to the board!

I've read they don't usually make a specific diagnosis until a bit later when they can see exactly what has been affected. Hopefully they can do an MRI for you and find out more after her birthday. We didn't get a diagnosis until 2 1/2, so I know waiting is hard. Of course, we were in denial that there was a problem, so that didn't help either.

I look forward to getting to know you here and hope you can find this board supportive and helpful. L
