Hi my 9 year old son recent had the flu high fever. For 3 days he really did nothing but sleep and run a fever. He return to school monday feeling relatively better. Monday evening his fever returned and tuesday morning had intense leg pain. I assumed it was body aches and kept him home from school . By Wednesday he could hardly walk a trip to our local hospital indicated he definately had the flu and elevated ck levels 1400. They began IV fluids and felt uncomfortable keeping him so they transferred him to a large hospital in the city. He is now home still recovering. I was unable to consult with the Dr.s on his case myself but husband did. He is a hockey player and my concern is that he will rebound with too much activity. Is this possible? Will it happen again if he should come down with the flu? I would appreciate any information on anyone with children who have had/have this and if there is a chance for increase in his ck with sports etc. Thanks
