My 8yr old son for some reason can not tell the truth about anything.
If simple stuff like brushing his teeth...I am soooo tired of him lying to us and just not having any regards for his belongings. Like he has torn up three pair of shoes in six months...HELP!!!

Hiya,

Have you talked to the doctor about this at all? I'm also wondering if you react to his lying. I would imagine that would be my first reaction too. But if you stop reacting at all I wonder if this might make him stop. It's almost as if he wants a reaction so he keeps doing it. But tearing shoes, that is not acceptable at his age he should know better. Talk to his doctor. I'd get some doctors opinions on this. I'm sorry you are going through a hard time right now. Please let us know how he is doing, and you too for that matter!
