I am not from your area, in fact I'm not even close, as I am in southeastern Wisconsin. I am sure you will find people closer to home though. Perhaps you may find a good way to meet other mothers, is by checking out local "play groups" in your area. Often such groups are held on a weekly basis, at local churches, libraries, and even some book stores. You could research such groups by using a search engine, such as Google, or Yahoo, by putting in "children's play groups Pittsfield MA", and you may be surprised at the number of listings you will find. Most of these type of groups are also usually free of charge, which is great, no matter who you are in our current economy. Good luck to you, and also "Kudos" for actively seeking out sources, that may lead to forming new friendships.
Even though I am physically a long way from MA, with all of today's wonderful technology, and multiple modes of communication, the distance really doesn't have to be that much of an issue...so, in other words, feel free to reach out. I am a mother of only one daughter, and she is 13y.o., but I believe that by virtue of just being a "mother", we can all relate to one another on some level. Take good care, and keep your chin up...and most importantly keep doing things to "take care" of yourself. We have to take care of ourselves, not only physically, but just as importantly, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, to really be the "best mom", "best spouse", "best friend"... and simply the"best us", we can be.
Be well !
