What do you mean refuses? I would suggest putting the child on the toilet hourly. During school, tell the teacher to do the same. Please keep us updated.

Potty training is the hardest thing u have to do.What I did is put underwear on my daughter.Yes she did make misses. But she learned to use the potty chair.I would use a pull up if I went some where or she went to sleep other then that she was in underwear. It takes time.Just about a month and a half ago I was done with pull ups at night.I started with her in Nov.of last year.Good luck with potty training.

Hi runt74,

Good advice! I agree that potty training is a huge milestone for most children.

I am in the same boat. My son is starting preschool and still poos in his underwear sometimes. I am at the end of my rope and wish someone had a magic wand, but they don't. Remember your child will get it. With my son we put cheerios in the toilet and told him to pee on them. He loved getting to eat a handful and then putting a handful in the toilet. He also loves to say good-bye when he flushes. Try something like that. Let me know if it helps.

Hi I have a toddler as well and though she is a girl we went through that so what worked for us was finding out why didn't she use the bathroom when she had to. Her answers were either she was playing or because she didn't want to. Twice she said it was because you weren't paying attention to me. All of of reasons were understandable yet unacceptable to me as her mother. So I prayed and told her the importance of using the toilet and not somewhere else, that didn't work to well so she got time-out or a spanking. She is doing very well now with using the toilet. I love her dearly and I expressed that to her often and that I'm very proud of my big girl.
I hope this helps remember noone knows your child like God so when you go to him he can direct you.
Keep being open and don"t give up!

I like what you said and thanks for the advice cause my daughter is 3 1/2 and she was doing good for awhile with using the toliet and now she seems to not make it on time as often as she used to. I also know that there has been alot going on in her life with moving and not being around her friend that she became good friends with at the other place. Now where we are she doesn't get a chance to play with other kids cause we are out in the country and in a different town and can't go back where wed were living cause its the rules. It's a long story. Anyways it's just her, her daddy and I and the friend that we are living with. She is the only kid with in 1/2 a mile to 1 mile.

my son is turning 4 next month. He just not got potty trained about a month ago. He still wears pull ups to bed. But I just stopped putting pullups on him during the day, his issue was if he had the pull up on he was going to use it. I just started putting underwear on him. He had accidents at first, but now is doing great. He turned around in about a week, and I thought it would never happen. Each child is different, and just remember patience is key. Children do not respond well if you get frustrated.. Good Luck!

I know what you mean cause my daughter did the same thing. I think thats what her problem is now since she's not wearing them at night either and she's going on 5 next month. She has been more dry here lately when she gets up but still has accidents at night. Sometimes in day to but not like it was when she had oull ups on.
