My name is Dana and I am in college to obtain my Associates in Early Childhood Education, as part of my assignment I am to join a chat room. My question is not only for my grade in my class but also for myself and my child whom I believe may be mildly autistic. Does your public school system meet the needs of your child with autism in an inclusive classroom setting or is your child separated to meet their needs?

hi dana,
i'm sorry for not responding sooner and i hope its not too late to help you out. as a busy mom i don't get too much time online.
As far as your question goes. I don't have a child with Autism. My child has Cerebral Palsy. Our public school system leaves alot to be desired...but to answer your question.. My daughter is in a special needs class with other children with different special needs. the class itself is seperated from the rest of the school. They have their own wing at the school.
