My son is having problems with the formula

hello. I am a first time mom my son was 5 wks early. We have changed his formula 4 times already. Does anyone have any suggestions or have experienced this??? Please Help

He may have reflux. Actually, I would put money on it because it is so common for preemies, even later term preemies. Call your ped to talk about your situation, and ask for more information about it. My son actually had "silent" reflux, where he never actually threw up, but the stomack acids would travel up his esophogus and really mess up his eating. He was on Zantac from 6m-1y and did really well, except that I wish I found out earlier. GL

Premature babies often have dysphagia (trouble swallowing). I also agree with cheeezie25 that it could be due to acid reflux as well. The best things to do are probably switching the formula to find the best fit, as you have been. Also, talk to your pediatrician about ideas and possibly Zantac.

I wish you and your son the best! :)
Best Wishes! Amelia
