32 week old preemie
bastiansmama posted:
[TRIGGER] I had my son July 19 2010 after being in labor for about a day. The doctor said he was in distress so they did an emergency c-section and he was rushed off to a NICU an hour away from me. The nurse that was attending him said that he has no tone, he doesn't swallow, isn't comfortable breathing on his own and his head head seems swollen in places where it really shouldn't be. They recently did a head scan and said it came back normal but would likely do another if he doesn't start responding, even at a preemie level. I'm not sure if im asking the right question but i was wondering if anyone had any similar stories to share or could give me any info

I delivered a 32 weeker in March. She is 4 months & spent 3 1/2 weeks in the NICU. It was a long road but she is healthy & happy now.

I had my daughter at 32 weeks and 5 days and she was in the NICU for 5 weeks. She had trouble eating and kept aspirating but speech and mommy and daddy kept working with her and we finally came home. She now still has reflux but is healthy and happy and eating baby food. Take one day at a time.

Other issues she had between then and now...

She had a huge increase in head size and they did a US in the NICU and at 5 months a Catscan but said she just had a big head.

At 4 months she was hospitalized for bronchitis because she had low O2. Just listen to your baby. If they struggle breathing, take them to the doctor right away.

[TRIGGER] Thank you for your stories and congratulations on your healthy babies. Unfortunately my son passed away August 4. The doctors did an autopsy and could not find anything that would have caused his early birth or his dysfunctions. He was one in a million and I think about him every day. But i am glad to announce that i am currently in my 5th month of pregnancy with a little girl. I can only hope and pray that she will be a normal and functioning child.

I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing.

I'm thrilled to hear that you are in your 5th month. I have 2 girls - get ready for a pink explosion :)

I am so sorry for your loss. You had your son the day after I had my daughter Emily who was born at 32 weeks. Congratulations on the new addition though. I am also pregnant and due on Independence day. I had to have my daughter early due to being hit by a car 11 days before I had her. My blood pressure kept going through the roof. She is almost 9mo(actual) and doing good.
