my daughter was born at 29 weeks and is now technically 3 months old, but is only 3 weeks adjusted age. I took her to the ER because she wasn't eating, was coughing, was restless, and had eye discharge. We sat there for 5 hours before we saw a doctor, and all he said was that she has RSV. She is still sick, but it is not as extreme as it was. Anyone know what might be better than going to the ER again if this happens again or she gets worse?

Hi mommyjustine - what a scary experience for you and your baby.

Did you call the on-call pediatrician from daughter's doctors office? Do they have a nurse line available to call for questions before you head to an emergency room?

You might want to do some research and see if there is an Urgent Care facility available that has a faster turn around than the local ER.

I'm interested to hear what you find out!
