Parents/Caregivers of Preteens & Teenagers with Chronic Illnesses - potential survey
leslieliu posted:
Hello! We are researchers at Microsoft Research who are interested in understanding how kids with chronic illnesses stay in touch with their friends. We are specifically interested in the current practices and different technologies kids use when they cannot be with their friends.

If you are a parent or caregiver of a child (5-18 years old) who currently has a chronic illness which causes them to be away from school and their friends, please consider filling out a 5-10 minute survey. We also ask that your child fill out a subsequent 5-10 minute survey. You will have a chance to be entered in a raffle for a $100 USD Amazon gift card (one entry per parent and child). Full details can be found here: The raffle will end on August 20, 2013 at 11:59 PDT. Please feel free to share this link with others who may be interested as well.

We understand that you are going through a very difficult situation. We hope that with your participation, we can better design technologies to help children with chronic illnesses stay in touch with their friends!

We want to emphasize that this is purely a research project and the information that you provide will not be distributed or used in any way besides for research purposes. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact: Leslie Liu at or Kori Inkpen Quinn at
