i am new at this but here i go... i have a 15 yr old step daughter that has recently been diagnosed with crohns. after looking on SEVERAL websites i AM SO CONFUSED!!! I am not sure what she can eat and what she cant. i told her to keep a diary of what she eats and when and if she had any pain or not. that lasted 2 whole days. she had 2 scopes done a few days ago. shes been fighting these stomach pains for 9 months. the day AFTER the scopes were done her mother finally decides to tell us her family has a history of this disease. that was a little bit of info, i think, we could have used months ago! ANYWAY..... i just need some advice on what she can/cant have. the mother..... shes a whole other story!
The food diary is definitely a good start and something to take with you to the doc.
Unlike Celiac disease there does not seem to be a general rule of thumb on foods to avoid - it varies from person to person.
