Are they responsive when you ask for help? How do you get them to chip in and help out?

This is genius! My boys are still a bit young for me to expect much of them, but if they aren't responsible enough to pick up their things like we ask they get taken away. As for normal chores if they maintain good habits without being reminded for X number of days they'll receive some small reward.
