Just thinking that we needed a new topic... hopefully everyone is doing well with their LO's, my LO is 6 months old now and getting cuter by the day, everyone compliments her and she is totally in love with her Daddy, he is the center of her world, she will interact with him quicker than anyone else.

We are still having issues with our families respecting boundaries but it is nothing that we can't handle.

Kayleigh is 6 months, 16lbs 5oz and 27" long. Doctor seems to think that she will be close to 6ft when she is older....

Im sorry. I forgot to add that my husband is bi-racial, ergo, so are our children. Sometimes it is annoying because ppl will ask me "is their dad mixed?" or "their dad must be white." Ppl are so retarded somethimes. My husband looks black and no one would even know that his dad is white unless they ask but our children have that "recessive gene". lol. they are so fair skinned. our son has orange/brown hair, eyelashes and eyebrows. our son had grey eyes when he was born. they are now light brown. our daughter has curly, soft brown hair and was born with a full set of eyebrows. when she was born she had straight, jet black hair. her hair has lightened with age. Ppl always say how pretty and cute they are .... sometimes i wonder if that is because of their color and features. IDK.

Mrsjmsr,

I agree, my daughter has medium brown hair but it is soft and super curly, she has green/blue eyes right now, we are hoping they stay that way, she is fair skinned but her Dad isn't dark and I am a redhead so I am very fair skinned. She has a nice little tan but not super dark at all. Just the other day my sitter had a friend of one of her son's come to the door and he saw my daughter (he is bi-racial) and said, "Look she has an Afro like me" and just chuckled. I think sometimes kids get it better than a lot of adults. I agree with people posting in the pregnancy boards more but I hope that we can get a conversation going here too. I know that not everything about being the parent of a biracial child is bad!

Its kind of funny sometimes cause people love to ask about my kids three of them have the same dad and they all look completely different. Our oldest is 8 and he is darker then his dad but has straight hair and brown eyes, our middle one is 6 and he is "high-yellow" as his dad says but he has africian american hair through and through, then our youngest is 2 and she looks completely white! Blue eyes, fine loose curls, she doesn't even have that birthmark that looks like a bruise on her back. Its so silly to hear what people think about the composition of our family. LOL The real issue is trying to tell them what they are. the 8yo thinks he is hispanic because his skin is "brown" not "black". the 6yo thinks he is white because he is lighter!?! IDK what to tell them. I tried to explain that it is a race not just the color of their skin but that may be a few years too early for them to understand? Im just content with knowing that my kids are mine no matter what. Oh yeah and mixed kids ARE the cutest!!! best of both worlds!
