Before finding my 4 yr olds current preschool we had a really bad experience at the previous preschool. The teacher was not seemed to really for lack of a better term "nit pick" at my son until he was so frustrated he had a full blown on the floor tantrum at school. (He never even had those at home anymore). He never reacted to any other caretaker, sitter, friend ect that has ever taken care of him that way. And I had many caretakers as I am the solo parent.
Sometimes do you wonder that there may be some racial prejudice? Not anything concrete but a "feeling" KWIM?
Yes this teachers "style" of teaching was radical in my opinion but she seemed much"warmer" to the other children.
I moved him a month after he was there .
Now that he is in the new preschool it is wonderful he has learned so much and thrived.
Just wondering if you ever had that "feeling" of prejudice and how do you teach your children to deal with it or how to deal with it?
I know this is a deep/complex question but it has happened a couple of times and I don't want to "blame" them for being prejudice yet it is there.
