Black-eyed Susans Poisonous to Cats?

betzy59 posted:
Recently my 15-yr old cat died and I don't know if it was old age or if it could have been something else. A friend's daughter apparently fed her a couple black-eyed susan blossoms and I wonder if they are posisonous to cats. Thank you.

I am sooooo sorry to hear about your loss. I know that it must have been a very special cat and you a great owner if she lived to be 15. There are a lot of things that could have caused her deathe but black-eyed Susans are not poisonous. They might cause mild GI upset, but certainly not death.

I know you will have a lot of good memories for that special cat, so may they bring smiles through the tears.
