Our little rescue puppy had been fostered at the Humane Society and they named her Tiffany, so we have kept that name and call her Tiffy...there are days when she is called
"TIFFY THE TERRIBLE" but in spite of her dragging the toilet paper throughout the house, we love her dearly...After all, she is just a puppy and will learn.

Colleen (grandmaof03),

Thank you for offering support and sharing with us about Mikey, Madeline, and Dopey--your beloved Beagle trio.

I think you'll know when the time is right to add another furmember to the family, whether it's while your Cocker is still with you or later. Whenever that happens, there will be some special dog out there, ready to shower you with lively Beagle licks and wags.

Thank you, An_230517 for sharing the name of your new rescue pup. "Tiffy the Terrible" is such a cute name! Since cats and teenagers have trouble resisting toilet paper, I can see why Tiffy would find it fun, too.

Warm wishes to your family,

My sweet baby girl is 15 years old and we have had since she was 5 weeks old - she was the pick of the litter! I got her from my sister when her mixed breed female had puppies by her male Papillon. She has the markings of a black and white Papillon but is the size of a spaniel. Her hair was like silk with beautiful long feathering on her tail and legs. She is so loving and and very smart. She loved chasing squirrels and could almost climb a tree but now she doesn't have the energy to barely walk. She stopped eating so we took her to her vet where test showed she has a tumor around her spleen and her red blood cells measured 8 with 45 being the norm idncating internal bleeding. We have decided not to do any surgeries because of her age and she truly hates going to the vet's office for even a shot. She would look at me with those beutiful brown eyes begging me not to take her inside. Over the past 5 years or so she has suffered through skin allergies and the visits were quite frequent. So here we are today waiting for her to take her final nap, holding her, loving on her and trying to make her comfortable. I am not sure how I will be able to handle her passing - she was my "shadow" and loved us unconditionally. After many long hours at work, she would be there waiting to give me lots of "kisses" which made coming home to an empty house bearable (my husband travelled so I was home alone a lot). One of fondest memories is the day we were packing our truck for a raod trip to Florida and we couldn't find her, she was already in the truck in her seat ready to go! It was hard for us as this was one trip she could not make, neither of us wanted to ne the one to remove her! On our road trips she would sleep between us but once the turn signal came on she would pop her head up to see where we were stopping - it was so cute! We would tease her by turning it on even though we weren't stoppping and her little head would pop up! There are so many memoories that I could be here all day - thanks to those who read this and I hope you smile a little in your heart for our precious girl. We know she would suffer more if we tried heroic measures so it is not to be and we will cherish each moment until it's her time.

JunieB, thank you so much for sharing your sweet baby girl with us. When you describe her, I can imagine her silky hair and pretty fringes.

I am sorry to hear cancer was found and you are faced with her final moments with you. You are being very brave to think of her comfort.

However, I think anyone who can describe their dog with so many sweet and joyful times together, will always have her close in your heart. If you find you need extra support, there are some amazing pet grief counselors to assist.

Know that you have our support, and if you ever feel as though you'd like to talk more about her or how you're doing, we're here.

Thank you, Byroney for the kind words. I apologize for the misspellings - the tears were flowing as I wrote.

It is with a sad heart that I must update my post. Saturday, Aug 13, 2011, we watched our sweet girl struggle to breath and could not muster the strength to stand to potty. After spending 2 days loveing her and holding, we decided it was time. I did not want her to suffer a stroke or any other painful response to her health issues.

Our vet stayed open late so we could bring her in to be with people who had so loving cared for over the years in her final moments. She was so weak it only took a split second for the medication to take our sweet baby from us.

I commend the compassion and kindness our vet and his staff showed us that day. Upon arriving home, I saw all her things laying around the house and the heartbreak was almost unbearable. I posted a memorial on FB for her and many of my ex-coworkers and friends were so sweet and supportive.

She will be missed and we plan on adopting a rescued dog in her memory! She can never be replaced but we can share our love with another one of her furry friends. The problem will be picking just one!!

WIth a brokennheart, JunieB

JunieB,

My deepest condolences on the loss of your sweet little girl. I know you knew the time was near, but we always hope we'll have a little more time.

It sounds like she was surrounded by those who had loved and supported her during her long and happy life. I am especially moved by your vet and staff showing you and her such compassion.

Let us know when you find a new dog in her memory.

When my son got me a kitten on my birthday it was the next best thing that could ever happen to me . My son told me its a girl and we named her Bitsy to discover later that Bitsy has boys bits . He was the cutest kitten ever . Got so attached to him . He gave us a unique kind of love especially as we were suffering from the loss of my husband . Suddenly one day and without any notice he collapsed I took him straight to vet ,, he had to stay two days in the hospital but sadly he didnt make and passed away when he was just ten months . I was left heart broken and suffered a unique type of pain that Ive never experienced before . I miss him so much , not one day passes wihtout me thinking of him . One day I was coming back home and found an abandoned cat my door , I adopted her straight away .. she is so different to bitys in so many ways but also she gives a lot of love and definetly she gets all teh love she deserves . I'm sure Bitsy led her to us ..

Jadey66, thank you so much for sharing the touching story of Bitsy with us. I am sorry you didn't have more time with him, but I am glad he may have helped guide another kitty who needed a loving home to you.

You're welcome to post more about Bitsy in the future if you have another memory to share,

We lost our beloved african grey (Carmen) this month by a accident caused by me. The family is taking it real hard, we will miss her alot like her wolfe whistle and saying hello and bye carmy and making coughing sounds like my wife. Carmen did like to watch tv and have her head scratch or making sounds when the girls tried watching tv. Next time we will post a picture of her and tell some stories about her

Bear6365, I am so sorry to hear about Carmen's passing. She sounds like she was very smart and funny. I have had an African Grey myself, so I know what wonderful parrots they are and how they become such a part of your life.

I look forward to sharing more about Carmen as you feel able. If you're feeling guilty about her death, there are some grief counselors that can be helpful.

Thanks for the reply,it would be nice to talk about carmen and the joy she gave us. One thing she would always do was make kissing sounds, when she was out of her cage or make the sound of my cell phone when it rang. One thing to always remember make sure to have their wings clip and love them like you do a kid.

Bear, thank you for sharing a picture of Carmen with us. She looks like a lovely, playful parrot the way she copied sounds and talked to you.

Your reminder to keep wings clipped and love them are two important things we can all remember.
