I applied vectra3d to my 3.5lb, 8 yr old yorkie last night at 11pm. He kept me up all night twitching and scratching. He was very tired the next day and about 3 pm when i took him out to potty for the 3rd time today, he began to flipped out. He started jerking his left back leg out first then as the day wore on both legs started to fully spasm and it looked like he was bucking like a horse would. He was acting the same as all the above dogs with the exception of his leg spasms. I got online and found that i need to give him a bath up to 3 times with dawn and to give him 1ml/pound baby benedril every 4 hrs. i did and that seem to calm him down and he was able to eat a little before crawling up into a ball in my lap. I called er vet because it has been 24 hrs since i applied and he has a bad liver to see if i should take him in. They didn't seem to know anything about this happening and told me to follow the instruction online and to keep watch, to bring him in if he gets worse. What's worse?...brain damage?
I will reply later to update this status.I am so worried he will suffer nuerological damage.
I will also report this to anyone and everyone that will help remove this product from the market for the sake of these poor helpless dogs that are suffering needlessly.
I really need to hear from anyone whose dog that may have had the same kind of spams.
Thanks so much....scared i will loose him...

Went online to read up on Vectra because my 4 month old lab was acting weird. First didn't want to go out to potty during the afternoon. Put him on leash in the front and finally went. Acted like something terrible happened in the backyard. Then about 12 hours after gave it to him he kept crying, scratching, biting his whole body. Couldn't settle down, constantly looking around, repositioning himself. Barked and cried in crate. He's slept in his crate since 8 weeks with no problems. Called emergency vet and they said to bathe with dishwashing liquid 3 times. In tub freaked out and tried to get out. This is a dog who we usually have to get out of our bathtub because he likes to go in and have a bath or be naughty and take the wet washcloth.
I know labs are hyper but this was beyond any normal behavior he has ever exhibited. This morning is still biting body but has settled somewhat. Still peeing on patio and will barely go on grass, but did poop there, so hopefully its wearing off.
Also could find no explicit list of symptoms by makers of Vectra 3D they just say if dog has a reaction to wash with dish soap. Reading on here and on other websites I consider myself lucky with my pups reaction!! Will be calling the company Monday morning as well as my vet.

I am so glad I saw this. I applied Vectra 3D to my chihuahua last week. Several hours later the left side of his body began to spasm and he couldn't stay in one place. His water intake also significantly decreased. I asked the vet about it. They told me to give him a bath and prescribed muscle relaxants for him. Of course they did not work. I started searching the web and came across your discussion. Within 15 minutes I was giving him a bath with Dawn dish detergent. He seems to be calmer already. I'll give him another bath tomorrow with the detergent to make sure I remove all traces of this stuff from my baby. This was my first and last time trying Vectra 3D. Normally I use Revolution on him. I guess I will go back to it and find a vet that will order it for me since my current vet only prescribes Vectra.
