AMERICAN VETERINARY MEDICAL ASSOCIATION
Drew Weigner, DVM, ABVP responded:
Maybe and maybe. Most sausage and bologna casings are synthetic and cannot be digested. While it's possible he'll throw them up, they'll often pass through the intestinal tract and come out with his stool. The problem occurs if they get caught in his intestinal tract. If he hasn't passed them already or if he suddenly starts vomiting and stops eating, he needs to see your veterinarian right away.
