Latte, y 10 year old Yorkie, has been wheezing for a week or so and today she had x-rays. She has a collapsed trachea (about needle-sized), an enlarged heart and pulmonary edema. I have been given torb in val, furosemide, enacard, and aminophyline. She was very restless, walking around nervously for a while before settling down. I can't figure out which drug is causing it, and I may call the vet's office tomorrow to see. He told me she could live a year or two, but how will I know if she's getting to the point that I need to let her go? The prognosis is not positive-I think he was being kind.
