Issue with Male dog marking everything in my house

I recently picked up a stray dog in my neighborhood, he is an older male dog. Well mannered and very tame but I'm having an issue with him going to the bathroom in my house. He is spraying all my furniture, walls etc and also going number two at night when we are sleeping. We take him out constantly to go potty but it is not helping. What can I do ?
