My cats are both vomiting
An_248553 posted:
Since yesterday morning, my 14 year old cat has thrown up 4 times. At first it was just bile, just looked like spit. This morning it was a formed clump that looked like poo.

After all that and thinking it was just this cat and that maybe she was sick and planning to take her to the vet, my other 4 year old cat threw up. His was just totally undigested cat food, unlike her's.

I can't think of anything that has changed, or anything they have gotten ahold of. They are both indoor cats.
The only change is that I recently plugged in a Feliway pheromone thing to help them get along better. Could that be making them sick??

Not sure what to do.
And if I take them to the vet, should I save samples from their vomit??

Thank you!

Vomiting is the most common symptom in medicine! It can be caused by almost anything including hairballs, kidney disease, intestinal disease, diabetes, etc. Most cats vomit occasionally, but when a cat vomits frequently, something's wrong. If the younger cat only threw up once and seems fine, you may not need to do anything for him. The older cat, however, needs to see your veterinarian as soon as possible. Regardless of the cause, she'll likely be dehydrated by now. It's unlikely the pheromone diffuser caused this problem. Unless you see something in their vomit, you don't need to bring a sample.
