Prednisone and my Pekingese

My dog 4.5 years old 7kg has been put on 5mg Prednisone for a back problem.
I would like to learn how to taper her off the medication as every vet I have asked has given me different ways.
She has taken 5mg per day for 5 days till today.
One vet has said to give 1/2 tablet for 5 days and then 1/2 for 10 days every other day.
The second vet has said to give 1/2 tablet for 5 days then 1/4 tablets for 5 days.
Which should we do and or is there a safer way.
