He won't be making testosterone anymore and that will help reduce the risk of behavior problems and reduce the risk of certain cancers. It may not prevent him from adult male behaviors such as wandering, but it will obviously prevent him causing pregnancy. The benefits aren't as great if you neuter them at an older age, but but there are still benefits.
