My 12 year old Chow/Lab mix has been eating chocolate peanut butter cups, i'm told this is harmful, any comments or advice?

Chocolate is poisonous to dogs, but milk chocolate is a much lower concentration so it might not be enough to hurt him at his body weight since the amount of actual cacao is very small. Other than that, the sugar and fat aren't any better for him than they are for us.
