AMERICAN VETERINARY MEDICAL ASSOCIATION
Drew Weigner, DVM, ABVP responded:
It's not uncommon for a new cat to eat poorly for a few days after adoption. It's more important that he's drinking. Once your kitten adapts to a new environment, he should start eating better. You can tempt him with canned cat food if needed, but as long as he eats something after a few days, he should be fine. If he's not eating after 5 days, you should take him to your veterinarian to make sure he's OK.
