is my cat pregnant?
AnimalMommy posted:
how long is the pregnancy of a Cat. I adopted a feral Cat about
a month ago. since she is part of the Family now, I made a
Appointment to have her Spayed ,since It took me a while for her to trust me
I started out slowly from outside, to the Garage, and than leaving the
Door to the inside of the House open, now she is happy with me, and lives in the House with me
but Iam worried that she got pregnant, before we can have the Surgery done, she gained some weight, but I can not tell if she is pregnant,
Our Appointment is in 7 days,

The pregnancy of a cat ranges from around 63 to 69 days, or slightly more depending on the breed. Here's an article with information including signs of pregnancy.
Drew Weigner, DVM, ABVP responded:
The average length of pregnancy in a cat is 63 days. Your cat's weight gain may be due to pregnancy or just a better and more consistent diet. In any event, you are correct in getting her spayed as soon as possible. Even if she's pregnant, she can still be spayed safely.
