Remember Your Beloved Pet
Helping My Dog When He Leaves His Pack

I have a 7 year old Chorkie. For his entire life he lived at my parents house. They have two dogs of their own. When I got married 2 years ago, we moved on campus to a student apartment which didn't allow pets. During the whole 2 years I would visit him at least once or twice a week.

I finally finished school. We are preparing to move into a new home and are planning to take him home with us. I am concerned about him though. He has been with those two dogs his entire life and now I feel like I am ripping him away from his pack.

We will live about 10 minutes away from my parent's so he will be able to visit. Also, we eventually would like to get another dog but I want to a good long time to reconnect with him.

Can anyone give him some advice on how to help him make the transition from a multi-dog house to being the only dog?
