He keeps bowing down with rear haunches in the air and does not seem to feel good. What could be causing this?

my 7 yr old papillon goes through this occasionally...when
she has her butt in the air I rub her belly to help move the "gas" around. If it gets worse and she won't eat or drink
we give her 1/4 of a metoclopramide tablet (about 2.5 mg),
a prescription from the vet for gastrointestinal problems.
You might want to take your dog to the vet and have her
tested for gastrointestinal problems. We also have our dog
on a lowfat diet and restrict "people" food and table scraps
    and this helps.
