How to feed a new born kitten

I have a new born kitten age a week n a half he was almost killed by its mother n she refused to feed him..I've been feeding him can milk since his birth and he's been doing fine with that ..today I got him some special formula just for new born kittens at walmarts and he likes it ,only I'am a little worried cause his tummy is so big, is it maybe cause I'am feeding him 2much milk? how many times during the day n night should he be fed? I need a answer to these ?s right away Sincerely Alma.
