As a veterinarian I like MaryAnne's suggestion. A sensible combination of supplements and an anti-inflammatory, Metacam being one of the better ones. I would add to this weight loss, gentle regular exercise and dog physical therapy if needed.

WOW - I'm that MaryAnne!!! thanks for the thumbs up!!!! And yes, weight loss was part of the regime we used! Lord help me if I had to help my big guy up the stairs if he was still 25 heavier! Then again, I felt bad I allowed him to get to be that big! And now at 15.5 years of age, believe it or not we're still going pretty strong!
