Mine is not till Jan 11th. Thats the earliest my Dr had. She said they usually dont see the patients till 10 weeks anyway. On the 11th I would be 11 weeks. I figured b/c of my history they would get me in quicker.. Although she did try and see if she could fit me in earlier but with the holidays it made it more difficult. Just wanted to know if you Drs did the same seeing as how we are a little "higher risk".

Lurking.....I think 8-10 weeks for a standard first appointment is standard, but yes, each of my OB's dif see me earlier at my request. My first two kiddos though it was JUST for an u/s, I didn't even see the doctor..I just wanted some reassurancea round that 6-7 week point to see a heartbeat! I wanted to wait on the appointment anyway to make sure things were going well!

Anyway, any chance they'll get you in for just an u/s? Maybe call and ask!

I agree with Shelley, every doctor is different but from what I have gathered from these message boards 8-10 weeks is pretty typical. Have you done any blood work or anything? If she can't get you in any sooner maybe you can have your levels checked to help reassure you? Maybe you could call and tell them to call you if they have any cancellations and express to them how you are higher risk? KUP on if you are able to get in any sooner.

No, no blood work or anything yet. She (the front desk girl) does know my history thats why she was trying to see if she could fit me in sooner. I know she would have fit me in if she could have. Im just going to stay optimistic and not try to stress to much.. Its only 3 weeks away

I was able to get in during week 6 because of my history and had early blood tests to measure my HCG. I would do whatever it takes for you to have peace of mind.

With my first pregnancy (that resulted in DS) I was first seen for a routine appt at 6 weeks, which included an ultrasound. I then had 3 mc in a row, so with this pg (I'm 31 weeks) I was in for blood work the day after I got a bfp and they saw me for blood literally every 48 hours until 6 weeks and then they saw me every week for a scan until 10 weeks. At 12 weeks I had a bigger scan and all the non-invasive screening. At 20 I has the level 2 scan and I just had another level 2 to check again. Now doc is seeing me every 2 weeks and NSTs start at 34 weeks.
And the funny part is, this is all my doctor! I never asked for anything! But your point is valid, with a mc history, it would be nice for them to think about mental health and not just your physical and get you in!

I played kind of dirty... they weren't going to see me until I was 12 weeks, so I told them I had some pain on one side when I was in my 6th week. I came in for an ultrasound the next day, and again 2 weeks later. Pain on one side can mean an ectopic and they don't mess around if they think you're at risk for it. The pain combined with my history was enough for them to see me (and do u/s) at 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 11 weeks, 16 weeks, 20 weeks, and then again at 21 weeks and I have another u/s next week, when I'll be 23 weeks. The last two were because my cervix was shortening, but still, I've had LOTS of ultrasounds at this point.

Well, I was being treated by an infertility specialist, so after the blood tests showed increasing HCG levels, they got me in at 7 weeks for an u/s. I didn't get in until 10 weeks for my first OB appointment, which they said was normal.
Me 29, DH 27, MC 11/08, BFP 9/11/10, EDD 5/21/11 Green Team, should know 12/23!

Mandy_Smiles replied to Gonnamissmyson's response:
I have never faked any symptoms to get an ultrasound but I had really bad MS and I woke up one day with absolutely no MS at around 9 weeks. I called the doctor and was in tears because I felt like my symptoms were disappearing and I was terrified that I was having another missed m/c (TRIGGS: since I had no bleeding or any signs or symptoms at all with my m/c). They got me in with the on call doctor within the hour. I was surprised by how quickly they could get me in, I really think it was because I was so emotional and they knew that nothing else would calm my nerves. I had bloodwork starting the same day as my BFP and my first ultrasound was at 6 weeks, then 8, 9, 11, 13, 16, and 20 weeks. I have had a lot of ultrasounds because we have had a few "scares" I guess. I have had "kicked in the crotch" pain which has made her watch my cervix closely. I also have had blood in my urine at my last two appointments and she can't figure out why, so she keeps a close eye on things. BUT, if it were the other extreme and my doctor did not seem to want to see me, I would absolutely fake cramping or just go to the ER or a clinic for an "entertainment ultrasound" to get a glimpse of my LO! A girl has to do what a girl has to do I guess.
