New Guidelines for Women With Prior Cesareans
Andie_WebMD_Staff posted:
Ob-Gyns Make Guidelines Less Restrictive for Vaginal Birth After Cesarean, or VBAC.

Many women who have had a cesarean section delivery -- and some who have had two C-sections -- can safely attempt to deliver vaginally, according to updated guidelines on vaginal birth after cesarean, or VBAC, issued by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Check out the newest guidelines for going VBAC on this WebMD article.

Does it change how you felt about c-sections or delivering VBAC? Tell us why or why not below in the comments.

GO VBAC's!!!!!!

I VBAC'd my DD and plan to again....I'm so glad to see that the ACOG is finally catching up to the newest recommendations!

So many woman are GREAT candidates for VBAC, but until it becomes recognized by others as safe and normal (and of course the medical community to support and encourage women), it's so hard to turn around those old fears and very outdated stats that showed risks. That old data was back when c/s's were done different and women were induced vigoriously after a c/s. That doesn't happen any more and it's so much safer now with increased knowledge!

So excited to see things changing!

I am glad to see things are moving in a positive direction. I remember when I tried to find a doctor that would deliver my baby VBAC...they were far & few in between. Especially since I'd already had 2 c-sections. (This was some time ago, as my youngest is 13 now)

That just shows you how slowly it's moving...but at least it's moving!
