More Than 2 Million Cribs Recalled by 7 Manufacturers

In a recent WebMD article itrecalled by Evenflo, Delta, and five other manufacturers.

The recall swells to about 9 million the number of drop-side cribs recalled in the last five years, says Consumer Reports safety expert Don Mays.


"They outsource the manufacture of these cribs and are using very inferior hardware to make the side go up and down," Mays tells WebMD. "And if the hardware breaks or loosens, it opens a dangerous gap where a child can fall out or get trapped -- and possibly suffocate against the mattress."

OMG, I saw this in an email last night...crazy!!!

I beleive they are all drop side cribs! Anyone out there crib shopping, I'm gonna knock on wood saying it, but I'm pretty sure that close to all realls have been on the drop side...so, while they are more expensive, the convertible cribs seem like they are not recalled...I guess because there are no moveable parts!
