Pregnant with tubes tied?

I had my tubes tied after my last child, 15 months ago. I didn't have sex until several weeks ago, and am wondering the likely hood of getting pregnant? I'm not on birth control but have my tube tied, should I get on birth control too?

You should be more than good to go after 15 months. Didn't your doctor discuss this when you had the procedure done? Did you get the three month follow up x-ray to confirm the success of the tubal ligation ? If not, you should go ahead and get that done to put your mind at ease.

If this is a new partner, then I encourage you to use condoms until you both get tested for stds and have the re-test after several months.

My doctor didn't discuss how long to wait. But that's not the problem, my child's dad passed away so I wasn't even interested in a relationship with anyone.

I don't remember if I got the three month xray, is it too late to get one now to make sure things were done properly?

Before my boyfriend and I became sexual, we both went to get tested. Things are good, and especially on my part. He has done everything I've asked him to do. Would you suggest getting on birth control or is the tubal enough?

It isn't too late for the x-ray and it will give you peace of mind. I am sorry to hear of your child's dad's passing. That must have been rough with children.

Discuss with your doctor when you go for the x-ray whether he thinks that you should use condoms until a re-test of your boyfriend.
