Peanut Allergy
Northern_Girl posted:
I'm unsure about a lot of things, but I'm wondering about something.
If I eat anything with peanut or peanut butter in it, could it potentially lead to my baby having an allergy to peanuts?
tlkittycat1968 responded:
No. That might only be a problem if you're allergic but if you're not, there's nothing to worry about.

I ate peanut butter straight from the jar with both my pregnancies and would eat from the jar as I nursed and neither kid has any allergies.

I ate peanut butter all the time while pregnant. Neither kid has peanut allergies. Now if they run in the family, it has been recommended to stay away, but if they aren't a problem, go for it.

Of course there are studies now that show that limiting peanuts from a mother's diet and keeping them from a child might actually be leading to more peanut allergies. There is so much that we don't know about allergies and that science keeps learning.

Thanks. I was hearing bits and pieces but nothing definitive. And I really wanted some peanut butter
