what does this mean? Do I have thrombosis? If yes, will it cause any harm in future pregnancy? what should I do when considering planning pregnancy? One Doc has advised me to take aspirin two months before conception and throughout pregnancy, plus some injection (anticoagulants) daily during pregnancy.

I had to undergo abortion due various reasons last year. These include: sever early symmetrical IUGR, placental dysfunction, reversed blood flow to the baby, blood clots. I suffered vaginal bleeding throughout (my 6.5 months of pregnancy) after a month of pregnancy, was on complete bed rest, haematoma came out once but again it was there after a few days but baby was still fine.

Amniocentesis was done, results were normal. At 20 week (23 it should had been) I was advised to abort as there was a lag of 3 weeks.

labor was induced, it was like a normal delivery. it was the worst day of my life.

Autopsy report said baby was normal, there was problem with the placenta---placental chorangiosis. Poor prognosis concluded by a renowned radiologist and genetic doc.

I get regular periods before pregnancy and after abortion. I am little over weight.( I have seen many obese women with normal pregnancy, having very healthy babies). I had PCOD before pregnancy, but doc used to say that I do have a few symptoms but not that syndrome as I get normal, regular periods. I was diagnosed with a fibroid it was small but started developing during pregnancy, after abortion ultrasound showed it is again very small. Doc advised not to remove.

Though all the doctors whom I consulted were apprehensive that baby could have some problem. But at last the autopsy report showed that baby was normal, I was the one who was having problem... placental chorangiosis... and due to this baby was not getting enough blood supply and thus it lagged ...3 weeks. Baby tried very hard to survive even after amniocentesis, throughout pregnancy with bleeding and all sort of problems. To add on to my problems 3 wisdom teeth started appearing, very painful, I could not eat many foods, but still I manged my diet to be fine and my Hemoglobin was never below 12.

I want to know why all that happened? Can it reoccur? Will I be able to have a normal, healthy baby? And do I have Thrombophilia? if yes then will it affect my future pregnancy? What should I do next time before, and during pregnancy to avoid any such thing?

Please help, I am totally shattered now.

It looks like all of your labs came back normal with the exception of the MTHFR mutation that was detected. This may be the reason why they mentioned trying the anticoagulants and aspirin during the next time you get pregnant. I can't say much about the other things that you have said as that may be something you need to sit down with one provider and talk with him about everything and everything that has gone on so you can better prepare yourself. Hugs and best wishes

I'm sorry for your loss. I also am goint throught something similar as you situtation. I gave birth to my baby who was stillborn at 31wks for no fetal response. Instead of natural I opted for c-section instead, I could'nt deal with the pain of seeing my son born dead. I finally went to doctor yesterday who told me she recieved autopsy report. It stated baby died of Placenta Chorangiosis also and MTHFR Gene came back abnormal. I know this means blood vessels in placenta were clotted and bby was not recieving enough oxygen. My doctor is now telling me now I have to go for Thromophilia bloodwork for a possible clotting disorder and may have to take aspirin and anti-couglants for next pregnancy. I remember complaining to her throughout pregnancy I was having lots of pain and cramping in both legs with veins poping out. Which she stated was "normal". Also all my Gene tests and Quad Screen tests came back negative.

My question is could all of this been prevented and my baby been alive? Why am I having this bloodwork done now instead of before? Was your bloodwork done before or after pregnancy? Was your baby alive up until delivery? Were you feeling normal throughout ur pregnancy?

I am extremely sorry for your loss. it has been one and a half year and still I cannot forget that tragic incident...I do not know whether that could have been prevented or is all destiny maybe...I had undergone color Doppler ultrasound and that showed that baby was not getting sufficient blood supply and was turning blue due to lack of blood...doc said she would not survive for long in the womb more than a few more i had to induce labor...doc says daily dose of folic acid and good diet was and is necessary before pregnancy...i had to go through physical and mental stress as well during 1st month of pregnancy when i was totally unaware about my pregnancy...did your doc tell you that u had blood clots? were u bleeding throughout your preg? after one and a half month of preg i was bleeding for about 4-5 months...and yes i used to suffer from pain, palpitation and doc also said it was normal...doc once said had preg reached at least at 32 weeks, they could have perhaps saved the baby...but then again possibility was that baby would not be able to survive outside...lungs would not have developed properly...already baby had got very less blood chances of her survival were minimal...or say was no more when she came out...i was not at all normal during my preg...i suffered from bleeding...blood clots...when the clot got outside i bled profusely and from then onwards baby growth started lagging...were your baby suffered from IUGR?

i was not asked to go for thrombophilia test during my preg...and no ques of before preg as no one knew that would going to happen...after autopsy report only doc asked for this test...and they mainly say that good diet, ideal weight, medication like aspirin and all...folic acid intake before preg...perhaps help to have a normal not know what will happen ..what does your doc say?

When I was pregnant I dont think I had a color doppler. I only nhad ultrasounds done at 20wks,24wks, and then 28weeks. I had no bleeding during my pegnancy only a little spotting during first two months. When I went for the 20wk ultrasound they did find the baby was small for gestational age and two heart chambers in baby's heart not devolping fully according to his growth. I was told I was going to have another ultrasound at 24wks to make sure heart problem and growth problem was okay. I then had my ultrasound at 24wks and everything still looked the same with growth and heart but was told it was ok and to come back for ultrasound at 28wks. I was concerned but thought to myself doctor knows best. I did'nt take any type of medications throughout pregnancy. I had my 28wk ultrasound and heart problem seemed resolved but was still told baby was small but within normal limits. I was never sent to a specialist or any other doctor. I was complaining alot of leg cramping, leg pains and swelling and told it was normal. I believe in my pregnancy alot of signs were ignored and I am changing doctors and going for second opionion. My doctor did tell me of course after autopsy results to get thromphilia bloodwork to check for bloodclotting disorder and I would be consider High risk for next pregnancy. Did you get to see your baby after labor? Are you going to any type of counseling? I'm just now terrified about getting pregnant again next time. I dont think I can go through this again. I just keep thinking in my head what could've I done differently. I think about you and see even after a yr and half you still feel same pain. I'm wondering will I ever get over this anxiety or pain. I try to stay calm but still find myself crying and thinking.Did you ever try again for another baby? Was this your first and only child? It was for me. Thanks for sharing and your thoughts
