I'm sorry that I can't help with health insurance, but it is good to take a prenatal until you can see your doctor. Good luck with your pregnancy.

You should apply for Medicaid as soon as possible. My husband just started a new job and isn't eligible for health insurance yet so I was accepted by Medicaid because I'm pregnant. When he gets insurance, they may cancel my Medicaid because we don't meet income limits, but for now, it's paying for my visits to the regular OB and the high-risk OB.

You should definitely start taking a prenatal vitamin. Most of them contain enough folic acid, so just check your label.

You don't need a drs RX for prenatals since you can buy them at almost any department store or grocery store. Just be sure that you are taking a prenatal daily.

Apply for Medicaid. I thought it would be really difficult but it really isn't. You will need verfication of pregnancy. (An HPT isn't considered verification) So you'll need to find some place that will do a pregnancy test for pretty cheap. I only had to pay $5. The Medicaid office told me of a few places were I could go to get the test cheap. Some states have a baby your baby program that will help with drs until you can get onto medicaid. It's worth looking into.

I didn't have any insurance so as soon as I found out I was pregnant I applied for medicaid. It's been a life saver and since pregnant women don't have co-pays I don't pay for anything including perscriptions.

Thank you now im not worried taking the prenatal vitamins 3x a day.

Are you from AZ? i like the medicaid but do you think my husband and i qualify for that? He's income is above the poverty guidelines but actually its not enough for our needs and infact we are living with his mom. But im not working im dependent to him thats why i find ways to solve this problem.

If I'm not mistaken, most states have some type of aid for pregnant women and their babies.

It is easier to get medicaid if you are pregnant because prenatal care is very important. And it doesn't hurt to try.

I'm not from AZ but i'm a close neighbor to you.

The worst is my husband is not very supportive thats why im here coz i dont know this contry very well and the he blamed ifsomething goes wrong like in the WIC that were refused due to his income. He knew income is one of the requirement then he didnt call them instead he leave it to me

Im sorry to bug you, do you know anything that we can lessen expenses for pregnant women? hospitals that have packages from prenatal til i deliver the baby that is affordable...

An_242764 replied to lady_emerald's response:
I know that sometimes hospitals will write off some expenses. The best thing to do is talk to the hospital. I know the Intermountain Hospitals (IHC) have a program that gives financial help to those who need it. You just have to go to the hospital and ask about it. Do some research on the internet you might find something or someone who can help you.

Does your prenatal say to take it 3 times a day? Most you only need to take one a day. Too much of folic acid can be bad and can cause anemia and you can overdose on vitamins. You only need about 600-800 mcg a day of folic acid. For some pregnant women the iron in the prenatal can make them feel sick. It does for me. If that is happening for you then find a prenatal with less iron.

Some cramping is normal in early pregnancy. I had some for the first 1-2 months. It is your uterus growing. My doctor said I would need to worry if I was cramping and bleeding. Some light bleeding can happen after sex and usually isn't anything to worry about.

Feel free to ask me anything. This is my first pregnancy and i'm learning a lot of this as I go.

I read the bottle and it says 3 capsules daily...So i take 3 times a day. Folate content is 800 mcg and iron content is only 18 mg. This is all raw vitamins recommended by his friend in the vitamin shoppe. The name is Vitamin Code raw prenatal. This is my first pregnancy too and i will not feel shy to ask you. I havent gone to an ob gyn for check up coz my husband said we'll pay $180 and the only thing they will do to you is to tell you oh you are pregnant, check blood test and etc... He said on monday we'll call that center we found online and ask stipulation and if its good then i'll bring you there....

Im 1 month and 3 weeks now. My morning sickness is little bit better unlike the 1st month I feel like im really sick everyday i always puke...I dont like the smell of turkey, spices, and etc... But too much intake of folic acid doesnt affect the baby, right? I feel worried..... i'll check online about pregnancy.... Nice of you that you have a doctor to advice you...
