Should I be worried?

This is my first pregnancy. I am currently 9 1/2 weeks. I had my first doctors appointment at 8 weeks. They did not do an ultrasound, but the doctor tried to listen to a heartbeat with a doppler. He couldn't find one, but said that was normal since I was barely 8 weeks and he was not worried. I haven't really had any pregnancy symptoms - no morning sickness. Mild fatigue. In the beginning my breasts were a little tender but they aren't anymore, I also had mild cramping but that has also stopped too. I haven't had any spotting though. Like I said, this is my first pregnancy and I have absolutely no idea what to expect and am terrified of having a miscarriage.

I have only told my husband. We planned on waiting until I was 12 weeks to tell our families just because the risk of miscarriage is extremely lower. However, Father's day is next weekend, and I'm thinking that would be a good time to tell our families. It would be the first grandbaby on my side and my dad would be so excited. I will be 10 1/2 weeks at that time.

Am I stressing over nothing? My next appointment isn't until June 29 (12 weeks).

Yes, you're stressing for no reason. My doctor doesn't even try to hear a heartbeat via doppler earlier than 12 weeks since chances are you won't hear anything before then. The average time to hear a heartbeat via doppler is 14 weeks.

Symptoms vary from woman to woman and from pregnancy to pregnancy, even in the same woman. Some women will have every symptom in the book, others will have some symptoms while a lucky few won't have any symptoms.

As long as you don't have severe cramps with bleeding, you're fine.

well i had an ultrasound at 8 weeks and at 10 weeks only bc i told them i wasnt sure of my due date lol the drs here dont really like to do ultrasounds but twice so you have to know what to say to get them to do it..and when i went in at 14 weeks they still couldnt hear the baby heartbeat with the doppler so i got yet another ultrasound..lol i didnt have MS until around 10 weeks and it hit with a vegenace and still here at 15 weeks..lol but no need to worry and its okay to tell your family bc they want to enjoy the experience just like you and your hubby...I have even gotten my hubby a father to be card for father's day...its an exciting time...so please stop stressing lol and you should be able to see your lil one at the next visit..esp if they cant find the heartbeat..also does your dr office have the ultrasound eqiupment in the office? bc that helps to get you more too..
