Bloody discharge at 15 weeks

My daughter is 15 weeks pregnant. Has had no problems, complications or even morning sickness. But she woke up last night to use the restroom and when she wiped there was a little bloody discharge. It turned to a brownish color during the night and only a very little is there. Is this normal? Should she (we) be concerned?

Thank you for that information.
Just an update... She called her doctor and she was told that she needed to drink lots of fluids, rest and keep her feet elevated, take it easy for the day, and no intercourse for 24 hours. She was also told that this is pretty much normal but if she was to soak a pad within an hour then she should call in and make arrangements to get in right away. The spotting stopped and everything is going good now.
