How to treat gas or bloating while pregnant?
stepwillis1969 posted:
My wife is six weeks pregnant and she's been having a lot of gas and bloating. I should also add that a few days ago, she had a threatened miscarriage and is currently on bed rest. Is it safe for her to take Gas X, Beano or Mylicon? I searched the discussion board but I only found comments from people who were sharing their progress or venting about their discomfort. (Her OBGYN is out for the next three days today is 9/23/2012) Thanks. - Steve in GA

I'm not sure if gas-x is safe to take. Best thing to do is to make sure your wife drinks plenty of water/fluids. Unfortunately gas and bloating are wonderful pregnancy symptoms that aren't likely to just go away. I find that yogurt helps me out when i'm overly bloated or constipated. The probiotics in yogurt help with digestion so it's worth a try.

Sorry to hear about the threatened miscarriage. Hope all works out for you and your wife and you'll have a happy and healthy baby.
