Yeast Infections during pregnancy
JuliaBerry posted:
How common are yeast infections during pregnancy? I'm 3 months pregnant with our second child. I never had this issue with my first pregnancy and have only had 2 yeast infections in my life.
Is there anything I can do to prevent them during the rest of my pregnancy? And are over the counter kits ok to use during this time?

Robert O Atlas, MD responded:
Yeast infections are somewhat common in pregnancy. It can be a sign of high blood sugars (diabetes). It may be worth having that looked at.

Now, you can take the over the counter medication, it is safe to do.

Some say it helps to eat yogurt as it has a bunch of lactobacillus and it can help.

Hope you feel better.
