I am 11 weeks pregnant and very scared because i am a type 2 diabetic. What are the chances of my child having birth defects? I am not enjoying my pregnancy because I'm so worried that my child will not be healthy

I also have type 2 diabetes and my baby didn't have any birth defects and he is a very healthy 4 week old.

You'll probably get more ultrasounds and your doctor will watch the growth of your child more. And you probably won't go full term. I went into labor at 37 weeks.

There are more risks to you and your baby since you are diabetic but try not to worry because stress can make your blood sugars go higher which can cause more problems. Just relax and and try not to worry, i'm sure your little one will be fine.
