    Could this be labor?
    karimakim posted:
I am 38 weeks preg. and have been having stomach aches and sharp shooting pains in my anal sphincter. (These pains in that area, I always get before my menstrual begins.) This is my 6th pregnancy, Twins first go round so dont really know what it would feel like. and two singles after that. One was induced as well as the twins. The last one was 40 and 1. I felt like I had to go to the bathroom and stomach aches. Then I thought I was in labor and was. Do not really know what contractions feel like! Any suggestions?

I guess I am surprised you do not know what contractions feel like after having so many babies.

Contractions can feel like so many different things. I would suggest if you want to know if you are contracting, you should lay down. once in that position, you should feel the uterus and notice it is soft (except where the babies back and buttock is). you can then feel if the uterus titans up. It will feel hard, where you will not be able to indent the uterus.

You can always contact your healthcare provider and discuss this further. Good luck with the delivery.
