    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Yours in health,

I am 47 years old and had a hysterectomy but I still have both ovaries. I man that I love is 28 years old and wants kids of his own. He just moved out a week ago. He said he loves me. The doctor said my ovaries were in great shape. Can I still produce eggs at my age and then take my eggs and his sperm and find someone to carry the baby for us? This may is my soul mate.

Yes, you still may be producing eggs at 47 but the quality of the eggs may not be as good as when you were younger. You have a higher chance of having a child with some sort of handicap, usually Down's Syndrome.

Even if I am in good shape--no health problems?

Yes. A woman is born with all the eggs she'll ever produce and as she ages, they age as well. It's like food degrades as it ages.
