Hello, this is my first pregnancy and my husband and I were so excited since we had been trying to conceive, however I went to my first prenatal visit yesterday bc we had thought I had just stsrted on week 9. We got there and the doctor did the ultrasound and found my babyn I was so excited to see its little eyes. Then he said ir looked like my baby was moving and that all of the fluids were normal and thst it looks like a measure 7 weeks. Right after that he asked if ihad been bleeding or cramping and I havent been, he said he cant see the heartbeat or hear it and that it looks like my baby died. I was/ am devasted. He then began to talk to me very insensitivly about scheduling a d&c for the next day. He didnt even take my blood to see my hcg levels or anything. Has this happened to anyone? Should I still have hope my babys alive?

I am going through the same thing right now I have had two miscarriages last year and now this one I went in at 8 weeks baby measured fine but doctor could not see a hb I then went in for a second opinion on the next day with a fetal medicine specialist who said there was no blood flow through the baby so no hb. I'm still holding out hope because I have scheduled another ultrasound for the first of may the make sure 100% before I choose to go through the d&c. Also like you the doctor says we need to schedule a d&c right after I found out no hb. No one has done blood work nothing and what's worse I still have all my pregancy symptoms no pain no bleeding. How did your turn out?

I am so sorry for both you and your situations, britney and alicia

When this happened to me, and it was the same 9 weeks (I thought) and measuring 7, OB scheduled me for an u/s one week later.
After this visit, I was allowed to try letting everything pass naturally.
Fortunately for me, I go to an office that has 4 very compassionate doctors on staff.
