I don't think its weird, I think it depends on what you want to do. My DH and I were uber excited and called our parents within 10 minutes of testing.

But that's just us. A lot of the time people wait until around 10-12 weeks for many reasons. If you start showing or people can guess you might get some looks or questions.

This is my 3rd, we told family and quietly let it trickle out after my first appt. I have 2 cousins who are having their first and are right at the last 4 weeks or so. I didn't want to steal anyone's thunder so I kept it more quiet than I usually would have. I literally found out a few hours before my cousin's baby shower and had to keep my mouth shut the whole party, and the party was at a bar!!! Tell who you want.

this is my second and i am 11 weeks 3d and my whole family and everyone knew from when i found out at 5 weeks. the first we called everyone when we were still waiting for the test. the thing is i am very close to my family and i have 2 sisters that we ovulate and have our periods at the same time, there is no fooling them. maybe do it in a fun way, we brought my son to breakfast with my whole family and had a big brother shirt on him, it was hillarious how some took longer to figure it out than others.
