    What Do You Need to Do?

    The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

    My morning sickness has been RIDICULOUS with this pregnancy. It's pretty much all-day, every day sickness! Today, I pushed myself really hard to get all my errands done, trying not to fall apart over how nauseous I feel. When I finally got home, I realized I forgot to buy myself some ginger ale, which I was really looking forward to. So I got to thinking...I've got some ginger...can I make it in to something palatable to help with my queasy stomach?

    I came up with this, and it worked. It's kind of sour, but not terrible tasting. And it calmed my stomach down right away.

    Here's what I did:

    Grate about a teaspoon of fresh ginger
    Fill a 12 oz. cup about 1/3 full with sweet and sour
    Add ginger
    Fill cup the rest of the way with club soda
    Mix thoroughly
    Strain out ginger if desired*
    Add ice

    *I left the ginger in my cup. If you're going to strain it out, I'd let it sit a few minutes so the ginger flavor can seep in to your drink.
