Hello Ladies! I am in search of some unique shower games. I only know of Baby Bingo, Baby word scaramble, and stuff like that. I will be having about 50 people at the shower tho so it has to be games that are easy for alot of people to play together. Any suggestions??? I'd love new ideas!! TIA

A fun and easy game to play is get some ribbon and got to a party favor store and get some sort of baby themed charm to tie the ribbon through. (like a baby rattle). then give everyone the necklace when they walk through the door. The object of the game is to refrain from saying the word "cute". Its harder than you think. Especially, when gifts are being opened. If you catch someone saying the "word" you get their necklace. the person at the end of the party with the most necklaces gets the prize. In my experience my grandma is a shark at this kind of game. So its fun for everyone.

We played one at a family member's shower that was hilarious! Give everyone a note card, and have them write down a question pertaining to baby ("how do you take a baby's temp?" or "What the fastest way to change a diaper?") Then you pass your note card onto the next person (pass to your left or right) Then that person writes the answer to their question that they wrote on another card on the back of the card in front of them. It first seems like a jumbled up mess but turns out really funny! You end up with a card that says "What do I do to help diaper rash?" on one side, with an 'answer' of "Give them a warm bath to help them fall asleep" on the other side. It gets really fun when people write funny questions and situations on the cards and have random, crazy "solutions" on the other side!! Another cute thing we did was make Birthday Cards for the baby. Everyone Drew a number (1-18 i think they did? you could go higher or double up and make multiple cards for each year since you're having way more people) and you made him (my cousin had a boy...) a birthday card for that birthday. The idea being that mom would Keep them all and give them to him each year on his birthday! I thought it was cute. Hope that Helps!

One game that My moms friend did for her baby shower was to take a handfull of diapers (enough for 1 at each table that guests will sit at) and fill them with different ground up candy bars and baby food. It looks really gross just like baby poop. Anyway, each person has a notecard with numbers 1-however many diapers there are. As the guests go around the room they can do anything they want to try and figure out what candy/food it is in each diaper. Whether it be just by looking at it, smelling it, or some get really brave and even taste it. When we played each table had a 45 sec time limit to make it harder. At the end of the game the person with the most correct answers gets a prize!

lurking... At DH's niece's baby shower they played a few games. One was the 'guess the candy bar' that a pp mentioned. They mooshed different candy bars up in diapers and you had to guess what it was. They also did something similar with jars of baby food. They numbered the jars after taking off the labels and then you had to to guess what baby food it was. They handed out small jars of Play Doh to everyone and told them to 'create' a baby with it, best looking one won. Another game I've heard of is passing around a roll of toilet paper (or streamer) and telling people to tear off the length they think will go around your belly, the one with the closest length wins. If you're really brave you can play 'guess how much weight I've gained' and people write down how much they think you've gained during your pregnancy. I've also heard of people asking guests to guess LO's weight/length at birth. Of course on that one, the winner wouldn't be known until after your LO is born! And with that one you could get really in depth and ask for guesses on hair color, eye color, lots of hair/no hair, etc. Those are about the only ones I can think of. HTH! ~Michele

I played "guess the candy bar too!" There was also Match the socks..which is like a box full of seperated baby socks you have to match up, it was fun. At mine we also played baby madlibs..Careful with that one though, becaue I was laughing so hard I almost fell over! ^_^

One that is really easy is to fill a baby bottle or some sort of jar full of jelly beans and guess how many jelly beans are in the jar. Person closes to the correct # without going over wins a prize. I've been to several baby showers where they give you a miniature clothes pin with a pink or blue ribbon on it and they tell you you can't say whatever word they choose. It could be girl, baby, pink, blue, cute, etc. Very similar to a pp but you use a clothes pin instead. Something else I will be doing that isn't a game is a diaper raffle. Include in the invitation that if people bring a pack of diapers (or wipes) they will be entered to win a big raffle. In my case we own a day spa so I'm going to give away a 30 min. massage as the big winner of the diaper raffle. It's a great way to get more diapers and you can never have enough of them! HTH!

My favoite is where you buy a bunch of different candy bars and stick one of each in a brown lunch sack. You put a hint on the outside as to what the candy bar is that refers to something about the pregnancy/baby - for example the Twizzlers hint was "umbilical cord", Goobers could be "baby boogers" and my favorite was a Snickers bar - "sounds heard on conception nite". The person with the most brown sacks at the end could get another bigger prize, not to mention all the candy bars. Hope I explained this ok! One more fun one that is tricky is cloth diapering a baby doll blind folded - funny and can be painful with the real safety pins. Have fun ladies

one game that I have mentioned before was at my cousin's baby shower. It was a match up type of game. Everyone one received a piece of paper with pre-printed names of mommy and baby animals and whoever matched the most babies to the correct mother won. It was surprisingly fun and something new. Who knew there were so many different names for babies!! Also there is the game of guess the 5 most popular names for a boy/girl in (2009) or you can have more fun and try to guess the most popular names in 1970 or something.

I have been to one with the candy bar in the diaper only they melted it so it looked super gross and more poop-like lol, also with the one where you can't say baby, or any word of your choice there was one that you cannot cross your legs and if you catch anyone doing it you take their pin, or necklace, whatever you choose to use lol One that I really loved because it's so interesting is called multitasking mommy: you have a string tied to 2 ends of the room and the object it to balance hanging clothes (you actually have a laundry basket in hand), talking on the phone AND holding the baby lol I think whoever hangs all clothes fastest without dropping anything wins or something along those lines you could buy baby food and peel off the labels and have people guess what it is, although that can be pretty hard if you pick a bunch of varieties. usually try sticking to the simple ones like applesauce, bananas, etc. you could even offer the names and they could try matching them to the jar. Also you can have dolls and see who can successfully change the baby's diaper fastest. The measuring game: have the guests write down their guesses or they can say it and you record the guesses, they have to guess the measurement of your belly all the way around (I was fooled on this one because they didn't tell us who's belly and it turned out to be the baby's father's belly we were guessing haha boy were we all way off) well that's all I have for now lol

oh! how could I forget "my water broke!" lol you buy litte babies like you could get them at the dollar store they are very small. You put them in plastics cups of water and freeze them of course before the party and you hand one to each guest as they arrive or some point at the beginning of the shower and you can make the rules such as: you can't removed the ice block from the cup. that's if you want. The object is to melt the ice enough to get the baby out and the first to get the baby out yells "my water broke" and of course they win lo this game of course will drag on for a while so don't put all other stuff on hault just for this game lol continue doing other games while people are trying to make their water break lol

ooh! I just thought of this one! lol idk if it's ever been done so I won't take credit... but if you know what you're having and have the name you could kind of do a pictionary thing where you stand in front give clues to the name you picked, far off clues, and then get to clues that get more obvious and see who guesses the name first lol

My favorite game may not work for you because you are having so many guests it may take too much prep work but here goes anyway... If you cut out little onsie patterns on white poster board and set up a table with a lot of decorations (glitter, cloth, ribbon, glue, stickers, buttons... etc.) people can create a personal onsie for your baby. You can also buy cheap white onsies if you want to spend the extra cash. Once they are made you can display them on a clothes line with pink or blue clothespins. Then the mommy to be can pick her favorite or favorites for prizes. If you do use glitter glue or puffy paint it may not dry quick so be extra careful when hanging.

One really funny game I saw was to fill baby bottles with some sort of drink - water, juice or some alcoholic mix - and have a race to see who can finish the bottle first. Apparently those things aren't really easy to suck out of fast. It's hilarious watching people try! Another thing that's nice (although not a game) that we did at a friend's shower was to have everyone write down things about the mom-to-be such as: The first time I met so-and-so was _________________. So-and-so will be a great mom because _______________. My favorite memory of me and so-and-so is ____________. At the end we had everyone write down a word of advise for the mom and dad to be... it's something really nice for mom-to-be to take home and keep.

THANK YOU for all the suggestions. I'm still open for MORE!! More so for ALOT of people. So far, I think I might use to tiolet paper measuring my belly one, and the clothes pin with a baby charm on it, where you can't say a certain word. I like those. And people can choose to participate or not. There are several people invite that I KNOW will not like playing games, but it's MY shower! By the way...How do you set up Baby Madlibs????? I think I'd like that.
