I had contractions but didnt know I was having them.??

I was just wondering if any other mothers had this happen to them. My daughter is 7 now and when I was 32 weeks pregnant I went to the dr bc I thought I had an infection. When I went to the dr they told me I was dilated to four and asked if I was having contractions. I told them no because I wasnt feeling them. They put a thing around my stomach and it showed I was having contractions. I went to sleep that night at the hospital and the dr. had to wake me up and tel me that I was dilated to 10. So the whole time I was having contractions I wasnt feeling a thing. I had my girl 6 weeks early. She was healthy and weighed 5 lbs 13 oz. The dr says the reason was an incompetent cervix. I had no pain at all just when I was pushing her out. Im 21 weeks pregnant now and was wondering if I am goin to feel the contractions now. My doctor has me on the 17p shots too to keep my cervix from opening.
