    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Yours in health,

My doctor prescribed me motrin as of yesterday for my severe siatica pain. He said recent studies have come out that tylenol does absolutely nothing for back pain. He told me its ok up until 30 weeks and only take sparingly/ when needed. If it is anything else he said take tylenol. So motrin nay be ok in small infrequent doses? Every doctor varies on this subject.

was always told to only take tylenol for any pain...you dont want to take anything that causes your blood to thin. not sure if motrin does that.

My doctor told me that motrin is a no no in the 3rd trimester (I forget what he said it affects) but that 1st and 2nd trimesters were okay.

Obviously, you still want to minimize any drug use, but hopefully you get some relief.
